I have project with Wincc Advanced runtime V11 SP2 Update 5, S7-1200 1214 and KTP 600 Basic PN.

After renaming network adapter, WinCC runtime and PLC existing connection between runtime and S7-1200 is switchet to Softbus ans I lost connection to PLC. In help I find:

Definition of "Softbus"

Virtual bus that allows data exchange between WinCC Runtime and WinAC MP. This bus is also installed when you install WinCC . After installing WinAC MP, S7 connections from WinCC Runtime to external stations on PROFIBUS or Ethernet are routed over Softbus.

But I don’t have WinAC MP in project. I switch all tags to internal, remove connection, remove network board, add network board and reconnect connections and tags – no result.

Haw to restore connection?

I have similar problem. After dragging the first tag from PLC to HMI, HMI_Connection_1 was created automatically with Interface set to Softbus and this cannot be changed. I've read so many articles in Support on it my head is spinning. Any hepl would be greatly appreciated!

Also, you can create new connection with hardware, just you have to change tag connection.

It happens to me often that after a migration to TIA Portal I get "Softbus" in the "Interface" of the HMI connection parameter.

The simpliest way I found to get "Ethernet" as I wanted is:

• Go in the "Properties" of the PC station
• In the "XDB configuration" tab, uncheck "S7RTM is installed (for example the SIMATIC NET PC software"

You should now have "ETHERNET" instead of "Softbus" in the properties of the HMI connection.

I noticed this problem when I was trying to use my Laptop as the Engineering Station and With WInCC Advanced Runtime.  The I/O tags would show ###.  I had to re-create another PC station and somehow it fixed it.  It has been running fine for the past week and I was experimenting with adding a OPC Server on the PC Station.  Then the Softbus appeared again and the ### in my runtime screen.  I did not want to re-create a PC station again.  Your solution worked great !!  However, I had to remove the OPC Server otherwise you get an error when you compile.  It's ok.. I can figure out that part later. At least I know how to fix it with your solution. Thanks for posting this.
