S7-200 <-> S7400 PUT/GET communications

Evgeniy Plokhov Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	I'm trying to transfer databetween 224XP+243-1and414-3 PN/DP using PUT/GET functions. S7-200 is configured as server, S7-400 builds up activeS7 connection through anintegrated ethernet port. The link is OK, and the data is transfered fine when I transfer small amounts of data as shown in the attachment. But when I try toget the whole data - 69 bytes I always get an error with STATUS = 4. The same for the PUT function - I can write 2 words, but no more! Here is how I want data to be get/put to/from S7-200: GET: ADDR_1: P#DB1.DBX600.0 BYTE 69 RD_1: P#DB201.DBX0.0 BYTE 69 PUT: ADDR_1: P#DB1.DBX700.0 BYTE 18 SD_1: P#DB201.DBX70.0 BYTE 18 I guess my problem is with the addressing.... In the systemmanual of theS7-200 i found the following information As Client: max. 212 Bytes for XPUT/XGET As Server: max. 222 Bytes for XGET; max. 212 Bytes für XPUT and in Chapter 1.5.3 of this manual http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/60590432/0/en?Datakey=24285698 Communications partners ● S7-200 CPU with CP 243-1 ● S7-300 CPU with CP 343-1, CP 343-1 Lean, CP 343-1 IT / Advanced ● S7-400 CPU with CP 443-1, CP 443-1 IT / Advanced ● PG/PC with OPC server ● PG/PC with STEP 7 Micro/WIN 32 The STEP 7 HW Config program shows you the types of S7-300 CPUs and S7-400 CPUs that support the S7 protocol XPUT/XGET and can therefore communicate with the CP 243-1. When you select an S7-300 or S7-400 CPU in the catalog of HW Config, this CPU must support the "S7 communication" function. I hope, i could help you. Pittiplatsch

The following manual: https://support.automation.siemens.com/ww/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&objId=23426892&load=treecontent&lang=en&siteid=cseus&aktprim=0&objaction=csview&extranet=standard&viewreg=WW states that PUT/GET should work fine with S7-200 and S7-400. So I can't get why they don't work in full in my case...

But when i use GET, i can get all the bytes i want. I also have a s7-300 and s7-1200 and have no problems with put and get...So it seems there is a configuration somewhere i'm missing...

SOLVED, The S7-400 CPU must be set to STOP and then to RUN again everytime byte size is changed .
