DrewBul Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	The project has been working for more than 18 months and now says "Database context does not exist or is invalid". I have read all the topics in this forum with "Database context does not exist or is invalid" key words and found no solution. Network card drivers and the network in general is healthy, no other Simatic software but WinCC 6.2 SP2 is installed, security rights not changed (admin). Moreover - I have restored the good tested image of the sytem partition, so the problem is not in the OS or WinCC, but in the project (or hardware, which is not likely - all tests say OK). I have also restored a backup copy of the WinCC project and it is running OK. But I would like to recover the archive database (alarms, trends). Simply copying ArchiveManager folder gives no result. Also tried to "Save as" the old project with "Project duplicator". Copied OK, activates OK, but also no archives. Please advise how I could copy and attach the archive database from the old project to the new one. The WinCC RT license 1024 tags is OK.

Maybe this won´t be a direct answer to your question, but I can describe you my experience with similar situation, which I have succesfully resolved with help of Siemens Support! I have had some other malfunction (also after appr. 18 months of good operation,...), SCADA did not open, there was a system message Hresult Error 0x8004627: NULL,...... It turned out, that my runtime database of SCADA project became corrupted. Guys from Support adviced me following scenario(a Quote from Support): "Please, create a new wincc project with same project name (like original project) and copy the new created files "<projectname>RT.mdf" and "<projectname>RT.ldf" from new project to original project and try to open this project again. You will lose your runtime data by using this steps. Before you copy such a database file, please run the script "reset_wincc.vbs" by using "start-->run"" (end of quote) Of course, I was not very pleased with statement "You will lose your runtime data by using this steps", but I didn´t have any other option, as to proceed with that. But, afterwards, I managed to retrieve all archives (tags; messages were not needed..), with use of "Linking to the Archive Using the Tag Logging Editor" (see WinCC Helpsystem, "Linking, archive backup" in Index tab). (BTW: "Automatic Linking to an Archive", as described in Help, did not work for me.). So, If you have a working version of SCADA and only Archive data is missing, my advice to you is try to link your archives (if you have them) manually, as described in WinCC help system. No antivirus, no firewalls. Can not create a new project or open old! I had a similar problem a few months ago but problem was due to the PC being installed in a domain. We had to reinstall WinCC and its updates after taking the PC out of the domain. HiUMENCHO Let me give you a tip that may solve your problem, just create new project or open a project on Drive "C" (WinCC Installation drive). This will probably fix your problem.
