... My question is related to the PID_TEMP controller in S7-1200. I've been trying to make it work, however, it looks like the PID never activate, never works even if I click on the "Start PID"  in the Commissioning window. (TIA PORTAL V13)

Is it a problem with the module? or does it need a special activation on the parameters?

I've been trying the same program on a S7-1500 and it works perfect.

I've been trying the program on a 1214C/1215c/1217c and NEVER works

Hi Madman, I do understand your problem, so, my recommendation is the next:

If there is no solution, and you have been tested it with manual and examples and it still doesn't  run, just use an older version of the PID. I mean, go to Technology/PID Control/Compact PID and the click on version (it appear V5.0 - v4.0- v3.0..... and choose v3.0), It will allow you use only Compact V1.2 and 3step, but the PID_Compact works similitar to PID_TEMP and PID Compact V2.2.

You only have to check how to "initialize" the PID, because it has some different instructions compared with V4.0. Just play with the instruccions, and the one to control the PID mode is this:

"PID_Compact_1".sRet.i_Mode

If you have any doubt, jus post it.

Do you use PLCSIM or a real V4.1 CPU when the problem occurs?

PID_Compact V2.x, PID_3Step V2.x and PID_Temp V1 are not supported with PLCSIM for 1200 up to now (see also PLCSIM documentation).

Whe n i asked about the problem, no one told me about that xD, perhaps i skipped that part of the documentation. For that reason, i was able to simulate the older version of the PID.
