Hello flukky; I presume that in this installation "in the desert somewhere" you will have more than this PLC to power, namely instruments and sensors that you will use to monitor something (your description is lacking in details) and communication interfaces to send the information logs somewhere. For the PLC you will need 24 VDC for the CPU power, plus 0,5 A for each relay output you will control. Solar panels and battery systems are common today, providing DC power in different voltage levels. What you must determine is the Ah required to power all your equipment and how long the power must be available to energize the bunker you have set up, when the sun is not available. Adding lighting and ventilation equipment to you power consumption will make your power requirements more importing, as will inserting an inverter (if required). Then have a look at solar power units (with batteries and control panel) designed for remote installations, such as pipeline monitoring and alarming stations, and find a local integrator of such equipment for maintenance and repairs.
