S7-1200 RETAIN MEMORY....

Chili Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	PLC is not retaining its memory when the machine has been switched off. I did write a data block which helped for A few days but when the machine was off for a longer period of time it still lost its memory.

Hello Chili, Retentivity in S7-1200 is not limited to number of days. The only restriction is on memory size of the retentive memory area. Check if you have enabled the required variables with retentivity.

This board uses the Signal Board slot on the CPU module to provide up to one year backup time. This BB1297 is NOT compatable with older versions of the CPU.

Hello LarryAm, But again the Battery Board has nothing to do with the Retentive memory of S7-1200 CPU. The BB1297 is only for the RTC to be retentive for 1 year or so.

That is what I am trying to do but the field is not live. What am I missing. FYI: The tag I want to retain is a temperature set point in a Cyclic interrupt OB.

The Tags in0_max -- in3_max are retentive. The checkmarks are automatically filled in when a Tag is defined in the range between M0 and M199. Larry Attachment C:\retentive.jpg (1886 Downloads)
