hi You can have 0-10V analog input for S7 1200.or convert the voltage signal to 4-20mA signal. |

hi devilman1069, The easiest way would be to use sensors, that are compatible with the interfaces of your CPU. The S7-1212 has 2 integrated analog input(0-10V). You can expand your CPU with 2 signal-modules and 1 signal-board that gives you more inputs and outputs. You can use analog signal-modules for temperature-measuring using RTD(PT100...) or thermocouples for example. Have a look into the S7-1200 system manual You will find the technical data of all available modules in chapter A. hope this helps, regards, |

Hi, Thank you very much for the reply. means a lot to me the project is i'd say a low budget one for now. And we are planning to doing improvements for it later this year. I will read thoroughly on the technical side of the PLC S7-1200 and check on the Price af the temperature sensor that you mentioned. Thank you

Hi! mops04 i want to know if its possible to connect a single Thermocouple/RTD using the two analog inputs in the plc itselt rather than buying extra modules... Please be kind enough to tell me about this matter..i just need to measure the temperature of the system in which the fish farm....and im a beginner to the plc world and improving on it . Thank you very much for your help.

hi devilman1069, no, this is not possible. The internal analog inputs are only for voltage measurement. For thermocouple or RTD you need this modules: Signalmodules: SM 1231 AI 4 x 16Bit TC 6ES7231-5QD32-0XB0 SM 1231 AI 8 x 16 Bit TC 6ES7231-5QF32-0XB0 SM 1231 AI 4 x RTD x 16 Bit 6ES7231-5PD32-0XB0 SM 1231 AI 8 x RTD x 16 Bit 6ES7231-5PF32-0XB0 Signalboards: SB 1231 AI 1 x 16 Bit TC 6ES7231-5QA30-0XB0 SB 1231 AI 1 x 16 Bit RTD 6ES7231-5PA30-0XB0 hope this helps, regards, |

Thank you very much for helping me clarify the doubt regarding this matter. I hear a lot about using Arduino to work together with PLC. would you mind telling me the possibilities of getting the Arduino sensor data to the PLC and displaying it on an HMI compatible with the PLC that i'm using for this project.

Hello Duris, Thank you very much for your valuable information on this regard. I did further research and with the help of certain people in this community managed to find out certain library and software (http://settimino.sourceforge.net/) which helps connect the arduino with S7 PLC im going to try using this method if i come across any queries i will post it here. Thank you again, cheers,
