i have question about connecting my PLC (1200 or 1500) directly to the SQL (MSSQL or MySQL).

I have read topics like wishlist: tiny sql client , how to fetch data from database and SQL with Simatic 1200/1500 .

I have try some examples from web. Some of them don't work, don't have reguested functions or they are too expensive.

But i was interested in simatic ODK 1500s SQL Driver or WinCC runtime - will it work without any PC? Just on PLC?

I need SQL statemens like INSERT and SELECT, but it will be great when there is UPDATE too.

The main condition is to communicate straight from plc without using a PC, so OPC and other PC based solutions are out...(We already using OPC to communicate with PLC and database, but due to so many windows updates, bugs etc we have to remove them from our system)

Yeah, i'm typing about it too, but i can't find any more materials if it really works fine and how to add MSSQL/MySql connection from c++ to PLC. :)

I can't find any trial version of this ODK, so i'm asking if it will work before i buy it. I really don't want to realize i throw money from window for nothing. :)

I found trial version and more documentation about ODK 1500, but it isn't what i want. It's for PLCs based on PC platform with WIN7, and i want to remove windows from our systems due to too many problems with it.

I will give a try to 3rd party solutions like a PLCSQL Link...
