I carry out the attached procedure and as per the pictures i cant get rid of the alarm no communication to NCK. 

I will try the procedure again today and come back with some more pictures, there are also some errors while trying to reload , I will document the faults and post them here

Please refer the alarm message, 105017 NCK system file not loaded, which meant that NC system is not healthy & as such system does not complete booting. User can only load the back up data, when default NC & PLC gets loaded. 

So please check if you have original NC PLC software.

 You have a very good file (you attached). waiting for you post much more better pictures for your 840C display.

PS: at least you get this picture that will not so bad.

I set the switch to position 4 on the CSB and press reset , the system reboots into windows 3.1 

here i must set the password to exit windows 3.1 , i then get the option to under diagnosis to backup/flexos. after i press this the system reboots again to a dos prompt . ( attached picture ) 

i then select option 2 , boot mmc-flexos , then the siemens software loads i switch the selector switch from 4 back to 0 and i still have the alarm 105002 no communiaction with NCK.

Here is a pic of the rack 2 leds are flashing , one is flashing continous and the other is flashing 6 times then a pause 

This machine was in production about 8 months ago , then it was taken and put in storage ( no power connected)  on first power up the machine had battery failure alarm, We replaced the battery and got the load back up instructions. On power up we get the alarm, no communication to NCK 

the machine boots directly into win3.1 and you must input password to exit this and boot the siemens software. when the siemens software loads i have posted pictures above.

one small tip--when you see display "No communication to NCK" --try to press reset button on the CSB card--(reset button, not services switch! to 1 or 2 or4--NOT services switch.)

Don't shut down system power, just press and release reset button to see what happen.

PS: from Your pic's I cannot see your 840C is using Window 3.1 --I 100% sure and serviced for 840C with Windows 95 version, But not sure there is Win.3.1 version.
