Retentive Timers with 50 hr timer input

Mitesh Sheth Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Iam using CPU315-2DP (6ES7 315-2AH14-0AB0). My application requires retentive timers with input time upto 50 hrs. But maximum available input time is 2hrs 46 min 30sec. What is a possible solution for increasing the input time of retentive timers ?? Regards Mitesh Sheth

SteveA Posts: 297 Rating: (42)	If you really need a retentive timer, one that you can stop and restart without resetting the accumulated time, then none of the standard timers will work. This has been discussed before, you can either create your own timer, or you can use the FC80 TONR timer from the Standard Library, TI-S7 Converting blocks. It is not as convenient as the other timers, since you have to copy the OB1 cycle time to it, and it uses DINT instead of TIME for parameters, but it has the same 24 day span as the SFB timers. Ste39 Posts: 4620 Rating: (710)	Hi Mitesh, open your project, then open the standard library, go to the library System Function Block, drag SFB 4 in your project calls SFB 4, for example in OB1 CALL SFB4, DB4 in the input PT write T#2D2H which means say 50 hours. in IN input, you run the timer. Do not need to go to the properties of the CPU "Retentive Memory".
