You can always copy the archived segments into the wincc folder "CommonArchiving" so they will be attached automatically again.

 Thanks ikkezelf, i have the same issue, i backed up my project and delete it and i want to retrive my archive segments to that.

 should i copy them all from my back up project to "CommonArchiving" when WinCC is runing?

can i copy the runtime data from my backup to the "CommonArchiving" as well? will this folder do adding data to existing data and won't overwrite any data?

.mdf and .LDF file in the CommonArchiving it wont overwrite the currnet Runtime database?

OK I have found a really quick way of relinking archives into a running project using V6SP3.  There is now a sub-folder named CommonArchiving in the project directory.  If you copy a runtime database file (along with the transaction log - .MDF & .LDF) into this folder while the project is in runtime, it automatically links the archive !
