Cannot select drives using accessible nodes

sparky69 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	A maintenace person from a customer of ours asked if I could help get his laptop setup so he could go online with the drives using Starter. On his laptop, when I use the accessible node function, the nodes that come back do not allow the selection ofthe "DP Integrated" part of the drive controller (cannot drill down into the node so to speak). ( I attached a screen shot of the nodes that are detected.) Since I cannot do this, I cannot select the drives and upload them to the PG. He's using Starter V4.1.2.4, his IP address on the laptop is on the same subnet as the drives, and he has the DLC protocol installed. Do you have any idea what's going wrong here? By the looks of it, from your piccie, you have a CBE30 card in the simotion processor option slot, this looks like a "PG/PC routing" issue. Assuming you have the OEM's original project, you can view the network setup in the Netpro editor. Please refer to the attached document, specifically theconnecting/network sections(I wrote this with a particular customer in mind, so ignore the specific IP addresses. Hope it helps P.S. Just spotted something, in your picture, the project name refers to Simotion, and your software package is Starter. Starter cannot work with Simotion devices, You need Simotion Scout which includes the full Starter functionality and more. There are many version of Scout, so I won't give a particular part number. If You have Step7 already installed, then a standard version is suitable, otherwise Scout Standalone is advised which includes the S7 hardware configurator. sparky69 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I don't know why this worked, but under the PG/PC Interface settings, I changed the access point from "S7 ONLINE" to "DRIVES (STARTER, SCOUT)". After that, I rescanned the network and the four controllers popped up, after which I was able to load them all to the PG.
