incremental encoder 1024 PPR: can't receive this 1024 pulses

Hello guys, 

Hardware I am using is CPU 1214c, incremental encoder 1024 PPR. I can't receive this 1024 pulses when I make 1 revolution by hand. The digit which I receive for 1 revolution is between 10 and 30 

I do everything by the books, however my HSC of CPU 1214C in my oppinion is counting as a regular counter, not High speed counter. I complete hardware setups: First Enabling HSC1, then choosing single phase, type is counting, count up, I0.0, I am not using any interrupts, because I am just testing.  In the program I have tried to call the HSC in OB1 and reading ID1000, also I tried to do this in FC still no success. Please, let me know if you know how to read correctly 1024 pulses per revolution.

If you would share your sample program,
we could have a closer look.

Your description looks okay...
one pitfall though.
Have a look at the filtering on the input you are using.
Make sure the filter is set to acceptable level.. the default is not.

Find the filter setting in the hardware configuration of the PLC, under the descriptions of the digital inputs.
