Hi, I don't know if this tool works with PCS 7 V8.0 ASIA. But on the dowload page there is a contact person. I think you should contact him to answer this question. AVC: You have to order the AVC by your Siemens sales partner. More information about the AVC you can find here http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/28448132 |

Dear Ammy, I have tested and readaccording to the document"Configuration of Texts and Languages in SIMATIC PCS ", Its means that The PCS7 includes 2 differents versions European and Asian, The PCS7 can be switched languages depending on what version you have installed ,For example if you order the Asian version PCS7 Then you can switch language between Chinese and English, Now My project needs switch language betweenRussianand English. Can you give some advise and methods for implemented this issue? Thanks very much! |

Hello Chengyue, First Installed the Russian language Region & Language in the Control Panel, this will you will do if you have Windows 7 Ultimate, Then when your Project is over then only you should Start the Project language Conversion using the Text Lib. & Import Again. The Detail is already Explain in the FAQ I have Post in my last Thread. |

Here is my solution. I'm not sure that it is what you need, but I hope it is Components in the attached archive are intended to organize switching between Russian and English languages in WinCC Runtime. This is my personal method and it works in two Projects: one on PCS7 v7.1 and one on pure WinCC v7.0. I believe it suits PCS7 v8.0 as well but I could not be sure because I've never used PCS7 v8.x. Also it has nothing to do with translations of the whole Runtime, it is only needed for the Runtime's Language Switcher. I've made it up because I had no complete solution for translating WinCC to Russian. There are three main steps of changes: 1. Replacing the functions Close Runtime.2. Replacements in GraCS folder Go to the Project folder GraCS.3. Editing the Language button in @Buttons12.pdl Open @Buttons12.pdl from your Project's GraCS folder. AttachmentWinCC Runtime. Ok, then most of the job is done already and most of the information I wanted to give you are not relevant anymore... As I just recognized the "Russian Localization for PCS7" is also available now for PCS7 V8.0 SP1. A couple of weeks ago I wanted to use it but It was only available for V8.0 Upd.1. But you don't want to use it, so it is irrelevant. But a good thing to know is that from V8.0 SP1 WinCC is now unicode capable. So there is no need for the windows setting "Language for non-unicode-programs" at least for the OS-computers anymore. See here... For the Engineering Station it is still required. I see now that you have solved the task regarding the language switching already and I'm writing this mainly for other users wich may find this thread when they are looking for a solution for same task. The picture @language.pdl is in asia and european version the same, but depending on the installed version (it is looking to theregestry of windows) either the european or asian languages are shown. The english languages is shown in both cases. The questionmarks are always shown if you switch the graphics designer to a new language because there is simply no entry for the static text in that new language. The user has to bring a word for that new language. Be aware that if you do it the way TerminalBuzz was showing (by changing the scripts in the installation path) you have to do it on each OS and you (or the customer) have to do it again after each update of the PCS7 installation. In my way I copied the standard-scripts to project functions and modified those. So all the changes are within the project and downloaded with the project to the target pc. If you are still interested, let me know. Regards... |

Here it is now... They changed the way the @language.pdl is working from V8.0 SP1... Unfortunately it is actually a small change om each OS-computer needed. It is adding a reg-key. In my opinion it schould also be possible to use the @language.pdl and adapted scripts from an earlier version. In that case no changes to the PCs are needed. Regards, mark |
