I am trying to replace the following module "153-2BA01-0XB0" with a new "153-2BA10-0XB0" using step 7 5.5... my problem is that i am unable to find the 153-2BA10-0XB0 in the hardware catalog even after updating the hardware catalog. any ideas ????

pls again check also version not only order number. I see probably problem there. In other case I recommend check/replace also back bus connector. Look, some important clear infos missing. Did you recompile HW cfg and download changes to CPU? Your info isn't really clear what you did exactly...

and have you check that the correct DP Adress is selected with the DIP Switch on the IM Module?
And have you Power Off/On the module after setting the correct address?

 I did the following

After uploading data from the CPU to the HW config, i used the "Replace Object" option by right clicking on the module, from there i picked 153-2ba10-0xb0, after that i recomplied and saved and downloaded to the PLC, followed by a system power restart which didn't help .

did you compare your uploaded prj with Online existing prior download some changes (for sure)? I recommend now only check diagnostic buffer or save it as txt and attach here.

I am not nearby the system at the mean time (It's a 40 mins drive from where i am currently, if you are referring to the diagnostic buffer for the CPU... i checked that and it shows some info about not being able to write or read from remote I/O.

Is there any separate programming to be done on the module beside the DIP switches

very sry, you need check in detail that diagnostic buffer in my opinion. We can only speculate if you don't have access to CPU now. Hope someone give you some good app that can use maybe some technician in that plant without your visit, is this your idea? In other side technician need have specific access interface to CPU depended to available interface on that.
