    Our packing machine used siemens pc 677+. existing one ipc touch screen malfunction,so we already bought new pc 677 with window xp.. our machine maker software is operating in Linux and I already project file have in cd... now I shut format window xp and install our machine maker cd.... when we purchase new ipc we don't get any cd to format and restore.. without cd how to format window xp?

Hi chandra,

if your existing pc 677 and your new pc 677 are the same model (e.g. IPC677C), then you normally can just replace the 677 and keep the hard disks.

I would recommend to make a full backup of the entire harddisk, before removing from the old pc 677 and operating the harddisk in the new pc 677. To make such a backup you can use e.g. SIMATIC Image & Partition Creator or a similar tool.

Hello,

what exactly you mean wit "Format XP".

If you SW is linux you should have a install CD and install the ipc with this medium.

Depends of the Ordernumber of the IPC you can order it without any Operation System then no Restore CD is in the package.

You can also some other free 3rdParty products to format the HDD like EaseUS Partition Manager.

and you Linux System must not be installed?
Normally each Linux have is own tools to format a hdd and create new partitions, why not use this tools?

then download EaseUS Partitin tool, create a bootstick and boot the IPC from it, format the HDD and try to run you Software on it.
