I had prepared, sometime back a compilation of important FAQs and Tips to help in converting S5 projects to S7. I am sure, it will be useful for those looking to convert from S5 to S7. IBN-Service Posts: 8946 Rating: (999)	Online Tech Hello, Kindly have a look at the following topic: Migration Guide: SIMATIC S5 to SIMATIC S7-1500 Until today, I still prefer S7 classic with CPU 300 + 400 instead of 1500. Only on customers request I use a 1500. TIA and CPU itself (FW Problems) is still not in a condition I can recommend it with good conscience. And TIA V14 (uhhhhh....) seems to use a new architecture, so that first problems becomes worst, I think so...

TIA is nowhere close to being stable even after 4 releases ( V10 - V13 ) not counting the numerous service packs, and now the fifth release ( V14 ) , being unveiled at Hannover Messe.

( Unfortunately no tool available to Migrate from S5 to S7-1200 ) Migration Guide: SIMATIC S5 to SIMATIC S7-1500 The Migration has to be performed in 2 steps ( And associated problems ). I wonder if there is a list of blocks that are NOT convertable like Drivers for displays like FB51 for siemens displays Drivers for communication with Sinec L1/L2/H1 FB's that belong to COM packages for e.g. closed loop control ... If the name of the FB is listed in this list: Don't even think of trying to convert it, because it's no longer needed in S7 Kind regards, BV
