Siemens DB9 cable for serial communications ?

It has two male db9 sides , and the connected pins are : 2 to 2 , 3 to 3 , 7 to 7 , 8 to 8 . What could be this cable type ? Where is it useful ? is it an RS485 (MPI or PPI) cable ? Thank you

My previous ideas of use as MPI (also what Wizard sugested as another cable type) or other usage can be probably used but with that info about 24V pins, this is important. In other case, I'll be carefully (generally) for usage of this cable for another reasons as is in mentioned #dP pdf.
