destructo Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	I am beginner in Simatic S7.I was using codesys before.I would like to know how to convert Word to Integer in S7 in ladder and also vice versa.I would like to know how about those integer function,do S7 have word function?

Jigs_C Posts: 33 Rating: (1)	Dear in S7 you can't define data type WORD. For example in a data block DB100, suppose you want to use an integer then you define it as Address: DB100.DBW0 Name: type in an ID here Type: INT Initial Value: 0 Comment: type in the comment here. Hope this explains

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 12/27/2025 Posts: 12474 Rating: (2722)	Hello guys; First, for Jigs_C; You can select WORD as a data-type for both Memory Flags (MWxx addresses) and for DBx. DBWxxx data words. You shoulkd go to the help file and search for "elementary data types". Second, for destructo: the easiest way to do this is to use STL, which does not implement type checking. If you must do it in LAD or FBD, then open the LAD/STL/FBD Editor, menu Options, Customize, LAD/FBD and unclick the check box Type Chck of Adress; this will remove the type checking for all your program. Piotr.M Platinum Expert Joined: 6/24/2013 Last visit: 11/14/2025 Posts: 1696 Rating: (433)	integer: 16bit type with sign word: 16bit type without sign in LADDER use MOVE instructions when WORD value is below 32768 if you wish to perform arithmetic on word when it is above 32767 (and you want to use it as a positive figure) you can copy it to dinteger and perform operations then move back to word - make sure result is ALWAYS less than 65536 note: conversion integer-->double integer: you must convert negative numbers. when number is ALWAYS 0 or above it is enough to copy: // ALWAYS POSITIVE L MW0 T MD4 // Positive or negative or not sure L MW0 ITD T MD4 Before conversion to Real You must convert to double integer.
