Which PLC should i purchased as a starter?

I want to start PLC progrmaing with Step-7 PLC.

Would you like to guide me which PLC should i purchased as a starter.

I was thinking to purchase S-7  1200 series and one KTP700 Basic panel. So i can also practise WinCC also.

Please advice!!

hi Ahsan,

Starter-Kits are available for every PLC-type.

I think it belongs to what you want to do, like what programming language you use. For example S7-1200 does not support STL. 

If you don´t know what you want to have for beginning programming, I think S7-1200 would be the easiest system.

As a registered customer you can download the Trial for SIMATIC STEP 7 Basic and Professional V13 and test it for 21 days.

But mopS04 is right - a Starter Kit for S7-1200 is certainly not wrong.

You can start with the S7-155 kit. And I think you will save a considerable ammount of money if you ordered it.

I repeat it a lot on various forums but to be honest - when you're buying PLC to learn programming -

In my opinion there's a need to buy also some sensors/actuators/small motors - because having just PLC without any additional devices isnt much different from testing programs on PLCsim

 You need to tell as about your budget/technical requirements, so that we can help you in your selection.

• What is your budget?
• How many I/Os you expect to use?
• What types of I/O you want to experiment? (Digital/Analog/High speed counters...)
• What types of sensors/actuators you want to experiment? (motors/solenoids/light sensors/encoders/resistances/proximity sensors...)
• What language are you going to master? (LAD/STL/FBD/SCL...)
• What is the purpose of buying? (personal knowledge/college project/work...)
• Do you need the PLC to have the ability to add more modules in the future (expandble?)
