CNC with 611 simodrive, I/R module goes Yellow led when activate

i have been tried. But motor no happen. Motor not run

 you did not info you check flat cable--this cable transfer 63,64 signals from I/R to the drives---if this cable all good--IT IS very clean your I/R module NG, you also did not mention if you have spare I/R to test--

I post better picture for spindle display--compare your display 3dr dig from left  is "o" drive not enable, 4th is "4"--missing T63--from I/R. Very clean,

If you can check ribbon cable--34pin flat is good, special for 1st segment from I/R to 1st drive ?--if yes

I think the problem is in I/R module ,  if possible change good I/R module to test.  you have Non- Siemens CNC that not easy to check on screen but you system Drive is 611A, that makes easy to test w/o CNC.

disconnected motor mechanical coupler such as X axis. using battery box set 56/14 on control card, in your condition motor should turn .

I think even 63,64,is on--your green LED off, but internal signals not transfer to the drive--there are small relay inside I/R module--If you have CNC 840D or 611U with SIMO COM U, THAT WILL BE very easy to check.

reminder--- 611A drive showing "n" is only mean 663 and 65 is good.

PS: from you picture, I seem to see you have 611A spindle control. If yes take picture of that small display I will see which enable not coming.

I found spindle display for trouble shooting in case you use it--see picture

 I use an battery for 56/14 1.5V, but still no effect. As normal, after enable the shaft of servo motor is rigidity and i can not turn the screw any more.

attachment is the picture with 2 cases, one is enable and one is not enable.

 I have X151--34 pin flat cable drawing stroed in my other location, I will look and try to post it for you if I can find it and my shop is not busy.

But Now you can find or make a new cable to test--believe me I have 2 service cases-- drive not enable --issue caused by that cable.

Pin 10 -> Image of terminal 63 must be 1 when I/R module enable.

Pin 12 -> Set point zero N15 must be active LOW.

Pin 14 -> Image of terminal 112 must be 1 Normal mode.

We don't have second I/R and LT module here for replacement. 

As my awareness:

1. I/R supplies POWER DC via P600/M600 and regenerates Energy from servo when braking. Also supplies HF 57V ~20khz  for IGBT drivers (Hybrid IC IGBT ASH). P15, P24, N15V, P5 for microprocessor in LT and AM module...

2. L/T module is only Servo driver without built-in rectifier and braking function. From CNC controller, receive ENABLE (65), IMPULSE inhibit start (663), and ANALOG(56/14) signal for speed reference. As normally for other kind of Servo system

For Example: Fanuc, Yaskawa, BUM60, SanyoDenki which I am familiar, Whenever enable or Servo_ON, PID works and lock the shaft of Motor, of course sometimes Shaft of Motor turns slow slowly due to drift of ANALOG signal, this drift is not serious because Position Loop keeps this thing.

My NUM1060 still "command" by Output ANALOG signal to 56/14 of Z module. This point we posted wave form in the previous Post by @dinhbang(My college) The sequence of Reference : Z first then X,Y together. W last.

 Before broken down, The machine still works normally and Capacitor in Z modules has been exploding for 3 times. it worked again when replace new capacitor ( Because we could not by enough quality capacitor but Voltage and Capacitance are similar)

So, What exactly going on to my Siemens Simodrive in the meanwhile enough DC bus, controlling signal, DC control supplies for Microprocessor, driver...

One thing I was wondering why only Z-axis driver's capacitor exploded causes 4 modules stop working. even Servo not lock in PID loop? All the signal has checked and good condition.

Of course whenever PID speed loop does not work, The servo shaft can freely turn. and when we used external battery to 56/14, the motor still stayed the same.

You should replace Z axis "drive box"  --Siemens call it power section. not only change capacitors.

for better trouble shooting you can switch Z axis control card with X or Y, but keep small sub-moduel--Siemens call it parameter board ,

another reason why Z axis drive easy to broken, as I think your have miller Vertical ? Z axis is Vertical?

if yes it may always has current to hold weight , or may you check you Z motor brake is function good, if possible it not release 100%?

Yes Nulizhang, Z Motor always keep Vertical Z head and of course it always holds the weight of Z.

I did check brake. The brake is controlled by PLC but still works. 

For deeper discussion, inside Power board, there are IGBT module, Current sense.

1. IGBT module driven by Hybrid IC call IGBT ASH. This Hybrid is powered by HF from I/R. The DC for hybrid IC are OK (there are 3 couples DC and 6 IGBT ASH)

2. Current Sens by CT and Signal conditioning by other Hybrid IC. This Hybrid is powered by P15, N15. Still good.

My ability is only can check all above. We should try to change new Power board.

You already did lot of test work, even more than I did--I have more than 20 years Siemens CNC and Drive experiences, but I normally only trouble shooting on the module deep, left inside for our repair guys.

Used drive module is much more low price than I/R or UE power supply--about 1/3 for 50A, and 1/4 for 25A or lower. (15A,8A) --I mean you m/c using all single axis module--from your pictures. 

so don't waste more time to repair drive module , just buy a good used one to replace

as drive module if no good--it is possible damage your I/R module.
