Hi everyone, I have one S120 CU: 6SL3040-1MA01-0Axx That controls 1 infeed, and 4 siemens servomotors through 2 double motor modules. Infeed: (1) 6SL3130-6TE21-6Axx Motor Modules: (1) 6SL3120-2TE21-8Axx (1) 6SL3120-2TE21-0Axx Servomotors: (1) 1FK7083-xAH7x-xRxx SMI20/DQI: 6FX2001-5JE20-2Dxx Encoder: 1FK7083-xAH7x-xRxx (1) 1FK7063-xAH7x-xRxx SMI20/DQI: 6FX2001-5JE20-2Dxx Encoder: 1FK7063-xAH7x-xRxx (1) 1FK7042-xAF7x-xRxx SMI20/DQI: 6FX2001-5JE20-2Dxx Encoder: 1FK7042-xAF7x-xRxx (1) 1FK7060-xAH7x-xRxx SMI20/DQI: 6FX2001-5JE20-2Dxx Encoder: 1FK7060-xAH7x-xRxx I am having this sporadic fault, when for some reason the servomotor is abruptly stopped by an emergency stop, or when input power is interrupted (power outage). C01711 SI Motion P1(CU): Defect in a monitoring channel V04.70 (7000) Turning the drive off and on doesn't help. The help dialog tells me the following: 7000: Difference of the safe position is greater than the parameterized tolerance. Re message value = 7000: - Increase the position tolerance (p9542/p9342) - Determine the actual position of CU (r9713[0] and the second channel r9713[1]), and check the difference for plausibility. - Reduce the difference of the actual position from CU (r9713[0]) and the second channel r9713[1] for a 2-encoder system. When I check the parameters I find that: r9713[0] = 8645087 and r9713[1]=9388042, with the difference being = 742955 = 742.955 mm And the tolerance p9542 = 0.1 mm So the difference is bigger than the tolerance and is what causes the fault. What i do to recover from this fault: I go to Safety Integrated function. Click on Change setttings Go to Configuration- Encoder parameterization I enable ACTUAL VALUE SYNCHRONIZATION . Activate changes. COPY RAM TO ROM. Drive object. Restart drive. I get an error that synchronization is not possible with this type of encoder. Then I change settings back to INHIBIT ACTUAL VALUE SYNCHRONIZATION. The way it was originally. Activate changes. COPY RAM TO ROM. Drive object. Restart drive. And now it works. I don't really understand why this problem is beginning to happen more oftenly, specifically when there are power outages or abrupt motion stoppages. I would appreciate any help regarding the cause of this difference, and if you know a faster or better way to recover from this fault.

Hello, You mentioned that this fault often occur during power outtakes, please check if the encoder power supply is break in so that the encoder signal of one channel is not delivered anymore. You can also try to increase the 24V supply to 26V to make it more robust against short power break in`s. You are mentioning several 1FK7 motors and a sporadic fault occurrence so I don`t expect a defective encoder. Safety faults have to be acknowledged safely. Therefore you have a separate signal on the Profisafe telegram or you can parametrize a signal for safe acknowledgement. After safe acknowledgement please perform a standard fault acknowledgement, then the faults should disappear. If those steps doesn`t help on that issue I would recommend to contact our SINAMICS hotline.
