Hello arain; Have a look at the following document from Hemhotz, regarding Can Bus interfaces for S7-300 and S7-400 PLCs: http://www.audin.fr/pdf/documentations/helmholz/Systeme-Helmholz-CAN-BUS.pdf Handling blocks should be ordered from Helmholtz, look on page 96 of the document (page 8 of 10). hello dchartier thank for reply. another thing i want to know that can i send and receive data from slave on CAN bus without using handliing block? for example ( in profibus we can directly send and receive data using "PIW" and move command ) so in CAN Bus is it possible ? |

Hello aran; Anything is possible, with enough ressources , information and time. You could probably recreate the Helmhotz drivers by yourself, if you knew how the CAN module communicates with the CPU over the backplane, how the CAN module must be parametrized for CAN BUS and how toexchange betweenthe CAN module and the drive,,, If you do not have the information, I strongly suggest you get (purchase) the Helmholts CAN parametrization software and the handling blocks for the S7-300, so you can concentrate on your project (making the drives do what you need them to do) instead of finding ways to talk to the drives. Have a look at this document from Helmholtz, it gives an example on whatmust be set (and how to) so the CAN modules can read and write to a drive: CAN 300 / CAN 400 Application Example DS402 ... - Helmholz Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
