How to Use CPU 315-2DP and ABB ACS800 drives to control different motors

The PLC and drives communicate through NPBA-12 module with profibus protocol. I see that in Siemens inverter, we have drive datasets (DDS) to assign various setting parameters for different motors. So can I do that with ABB ACS800 drives and how to control them? Please give me an advice. Thanks for your great support!!!

It is super inappropriate to ask about ABB drive. Anyways. ACS800 can do scalar control. Means the drive is one DP slave, and 2 motor is connected to it. Extract from Firmware Manual ACS800 Pump Control Application Program 7.2 (+N687): "Scalar control It is possible to select Scalar Control as the motor control method instead of Direct Torque Control (DTC). In the Scalar Control mode, the drive is controlled with a frequency reference. The outstanding performance of the default motor control method, Direct Torque Control, is not achieved in Scalar Control. It is recommended to activate the Scalar Control mode in the following special applications: •In multimotor drives:1) if the load is not equally shared between the motors, 2) if the motors are of different sizes, or 3) if the motors are going to be changed after the motor identification •If the nominal current of the motor is less than 1/6 of the nominal output current of the drive •If the drive is used without a motor connected (e.g. for test purposes) •The drive runs a medium voltage motor via a step-up transformer. In the Scalar Control mode, some standard features are not available. " Search for this manual and read it.Think about it! Cheers

Created in Simatic Step 7 version 5.4 This Profibus DP example highlights how to control the ACS800, DCS800 and ACS550/ACH550 (RPBA-01) and ACS350, ACS850 and ACSM1 (FPBA-01) within Simatics Step7 software. This program contains basic ladder logic for controlling the ABB drive with ABB Drives Profile. i suggest you try this and if you run into trouble please come back with specific questions. So it is definitly an 3rd party (from Siemens sight) 'problem'/issue... And afterwards MicroMan tried to answer the question, but I think, too, that the question perhaps would have been better placed in another forum (if there were one )
