FEEDBACK - THE NEW LOOK FORUM (2015/02)

Hello everyone,

Our community has a new look! A job well done.. it will take a while to get used to.

I hope you have by now moved through these pages and can agree that there is a lot of work, sweat and tears that went into this. An extreme make-over for sure!

It is early days, I know, but I do think it is appropriate to come back with a few thoughts of feedback.

Do you have anything to share with the Forum Moderators.. some first impressions?

Some first impressions (Firefox V35):
Respecting the fact that functionality may be under construction.

1. Typing a post gives some random issues, where the cursor disappears or where [backspace] will delete words not intended.

2. [Enter] will not go to the next line but rather start a new paragraph. [shift] + [enter] earlier today worked as new line function but later it was as if the command was executed and then [backspace] was used.

3. Not known to me where signature can be edited.

4. Personal settings page does not have a SAVE button yet.

5. STAR rating... each rating as a "tooltip". Now a single star is set to "not useful". I rather liked the previous ratings.

6. Elegant use of red. A little more colour would still be welcome. Suggest to consider making the navigation tree indication on post previews to a lighter grey colour.

7. Like the [+] hiding some detail sub-titles.. as example "User online".   
(this should be "users online", right?)

8. On posting some text - - the button says "Save"... why not "Post"?

9. Brilliant! - Being able to add more types of files (like PNG) up to 3MB and seeing a preview in the posting.

 Thank you... I did not think of looking above "quick links" in the left pane  - - do you perhaps know where to block some/all incoming messages?

 I now see there is a special rights area that keeps on changing between 2 items and 4 items.

thank you for your detailed Feedback-list.

1. & 2. ) I can't reproduce this failures, both is working, but I have a look on this problem while I creating my next posts.

4. ) What settings do you mean, in "Manage profile"-> "Settings" there is a "save"-button and also in mySupport -> "Personal data" is a "Go"-button.

special question 10.) You can ignore users with "mySupport" -> "Personal messages" -> "Address list" -> "Add new user", than mark this user and "Actions" -> "Ignore". Ignored users can't send you PM's anymore.
At the moment it's not possible to disable PM's completely.

All the other point are a suggestions for improving the Forum, we will have a look at this. There are some other big things we have to fix first, but we are very grateful for those hints for future updates.

When using "Reply" on the personal messages, make sure it is sending to the right person.

I have now forwarded a message to someone (using the REPLY button)
where the message should have been meant to reply to the person who sent the original message.
