Hi , 

When I make an upload of a PLC. Will the hardware configuration exist out of the cards etc that are original in the configuration or will it take the data of the hw that has been downloaded previously ?

Generally , when you compile a configuration in HW Config , the editor encapsulates all related modules data in system data file in blocks folder.While downloading hardware to CPU(mostly in STOP), this file is copied into load memory of CPU.

While uploading , this file is copied from CPU and interpreted .If all modules exist in the database, all modules and their related settings in retrieved from hardware.

Thanks a lot , so this means actually let's say that i replace a digital card by his next generation for example (without changing my hw config and without downloading).

When I take an upload I'll just see my old card again...

It is actually quiet normal that it functions this way , but I thought that maybe the card data was being read during an upload :D

I think the data saved in system data block is always valid until changing and download.When you change the successor module with a damage old(predecessor) one, the new module will provide correct responses to CPU's request to be considered available on BUS (central or decenteral).

With upload function, you have access to SDB stored in load memory of CPU and it is altered by next hardware download from PG.There is an example in "Decentralization with PROFIBUS" in which some settings of AI module is altered by SFC55 (over DP slave) but the author emphasized  that all changes are lost after master restart  and data stored in SDB is loaded (page 157).
