Dear All,

I'm a student in PLC. I've run into a problems,

I have a load cell, rated at 0-20 mV output. My PLC is S7-1200, CPU is 1212C AC/DC/RLY.

It has two analog input slot on the top part of the PLC. Analog input range is 0-10V

1) Can I use the integrated analog input slot with load cell or I need the analog input module?

2) Since signal from load cell is in millivolt, Should I amplify it to 0-10V?

3) Or should I just convert the signal from analog to digital? 

4) For the analog input slot, What is their absolute address and how can I access them?

5) For Normalisation and Scaling, The require input is in Integer Word data type format. How can I convert analog signal into this data type?

Facts: My load cell is rated from 0-100 Kg, Excitation Voltage is 10V recommended. Output is rated at 2.0 mV/V

Hello,

When you have a Loadcell, you need a Siwarex Module (WP231)

Or you can use perhaps a convertor to get 0-10 volt.

What about addressing the 0-10V analog input? How can I have their absolute address?

Go to Device View of CPU1212C

Select the CPU and go to properties.

Then you will find AI 2 -> I/O addresses

Here you will find the start address. (for example 64 and end address 67)

Then you will get the value from channel 0 at  IW64:P

and channel 1 at IW66:P
