i have a TIA V13 Upd4 and i implement a ton timer in a scl code with multi-istance (my timer was automatic declared  TON_TIME).

Now, i have a KP300 panel connect with a cpu 1212C and i drag & drop  the PT value of my timer in a page of panel, the value is not possible to view and in the field there are some #########, i think that the problem is the data format TON_TIME.

Somebody can help me?

hi Pini,

don´t use the Timer, use the out-variable of the Timer, or one of the static variables in the DB of the timer(ST/PT/ET).

I set by kp300 the time (10s) but the value is not passed to timer

I don't know why but if assig directly the variable #Tmr1_PV to the timer input parametr not work,

see the image how around the problem.

I hope the siemens team resolve the bug so will be possible drag & drop the ton_time parametr directly on the HMI.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one. I do not think the Siemens guys have something to fix (for this case!!). As any language (Java / C++ / Ruby /..) there are some syntax rules to abide by. If you use the timer as I showed, then you will not have a problem.

The trouble is that the timer instruction is referencing x2 must-have parameters. One of these is the PT. Even if you could have PT on the HMI directly, you will have the instruction overriding it with something else. Calling PT back as a formal parameter is not good.

What you rather would want is a to be able to have #Timer.IN := {condition}; which would allow #TIMER.PT := {value}; This is not what we have. We are not working with object orientated (PC) language.. not yet.

We can keep each other busy for a long time on how inefficient the implementation of the IEC standard is.. but we have but a small voice in this matter. PLUS debating how the "correct" way should be does not get our jobs done - now does it?
