Hello navnang; It depends on the master, it depends also on the slave compliance. I have worked with As-i slave modules that refused to be asddressed by anything except the As-i programmer, even though the master supported automatic address replacement. Both CP343-2 and CP243-2 from Siemens support the function "automatic address programming", under specific confditions. You will find the manual link to trhe CP343-2 here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/5581657 Attached is a view of the requirements for the master to re-address a defective slave replacement node while the bus is active. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
