ASI modules - Automatic adressing on replacement

How does this work ? Does this mean that if I have to replace more than one module I must replace one by one ? Regards Navnag

I have worked with As-i slave modules that refused to be asddressed by anything except the As-i programmer, even though the master supported automatic address replacement. Both CP343-2 and CP243-2 from Siemens support the function "automatic address programming", under specific confditions. You will find the manual link to trhe CP343-2 here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/5581657 Attached is a view of the requirements for the master to re-address a defective slave replacement node while the bus is active. I am using DP - AS Convertor 20E and Siemens S22.5 & S45 Panel mounted AS Interface modules. I understand from AS 20E manual that it supports automatic addressing so I guess it should work.
