Analog Input evaluation

I use 6ES7 231-4HD32-0XB0, Analog Input Module.

At input, there is option of Voltage and Current.

I wonder for Current ption with an instrument that sent 4-20mA.

1. 0 - 20 mA Setting.

What is an Integer value when reading instrument which send 4mA, is it 0 or 5529.6?

2. 4 - 20 mA Setting.

if you're using instrument with 4-20mA and connect it to:

1. range 0-20mA - your value of instrument will be from that 5529 to 27648, value from 0 to cca 5500 will be not showed, but it depends on instrument.

2. range 4-20mA - your value of instrument will be from 0 to 27648.

Edited:After I read it again, it mentioned that program ladder is for modul/board with 0_20mA.

So if my modul/board have option of 4_20mA, and then I don't need that program anymore.

Am I right? CMIIW.

if I good understand your situation, that library simply adapts internal analog value to your needs. If you don't want to use that library, you must simply select your prefered measure range (0-20mA or 4-20mA) on your analog card and then recalculate your own result value depended to your sensor current value, somewhere on cyclical code to obtain refresh value for monitoring. With that result you can work as your result value from analog sensor, it's up to you what system you'll implement. If you have 4-20mA sensor, select on card 4-20mA range, for 0-20mA sensor, same 0-20mA on card. With this both selections you'll have value from analog 0-27648. I don't use that library, everythink I prepare for my self manually. But I know that this library can be useful, helps to quickly and simply implement your needs. Hope I give you relevant info, don't hesitate ask.

 your selection option depend on your field device,

if you select 0-20 mA you will get count nearly 5529 at 4mA

if select 4-20 mA you will get nearly 00 count at 4 mA

( count  00-27648)

1) If you use 4-20ma instrument and done the seting in the module 4-20ma then count is from 0-27648. && if you set 0-20 ma in the module then count is 5529 to 27648.

2) if you use 0-20 ma instrument and done the setting in the module 0-20ma then count is 0-27648  && if you done 4-20ma setting in module then count is -5529 to 27648. 

For the above problem, in the following Table I (taken from the manual) will be sufficient for most situations ...

I see so many of these questions which makes me wonder why this is not part of the standard functions

This gets rid of the norm function, the scale function and the need to look up the resolution for each damn card for each type of input.
