I am in the process of adding a 6ES73384BC010AB0 3 CH SSI module to a remote ET200M station with a 153-1 DP head module. This is connected to a Simadyn rack via ss52 and cs7. anyone done this? How many read write words per channel? Any input would be great. Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hello SM338 has a 16 byte Input area 1 Byte output area. I believe this would remain the same regardless of whether you use it in a S7 rack or an ET rack. To insert it in SIMADYN-D, you would need GSD file of ET200M Here is the Manual for SM338 : SM 338 Ultrasonic Position Encoding Module GSD file for ET200M PROFIBUS GSD files : ET 200M I am not aware if you have the driver for SM338 in SIMADYN-D. Otherwise you will have to create your own logic as described in the Manual PS : BTW I am curious to know why you are modifying this ( now Obsolete ) system. Hope this helps Cheers Navnag |

Hello Sorry for the incorrect link. Attached Pl find the Extract from S7-300 Manual for 6ES73384BC010AB0 . The Input / output details as mentioned in my post are for the correct module. Also This FAQ may be useful : How do you parameterize the disconnected channels of the SM 338 and how many addresses does the module occupy in the IO area of the inputs?
