All, I am having an issue changing the cpu model in the "device configuration" window. Siemens TIA Portal V13 SP1 is being used and I have a program written with a 1215C DC/DC/DC cpu (model number: 6ES7 215-1AG40-0BX0). This is our standard controller and we've been able to load our program onto these controllers no problem. However, recently I received a 1215C DC/DC/DC cpu (model number: 6ES7 215-1AG31-0BX0) that I wanted to wipe clean and drop our newest program on. When I go to device configuration and under Catalog>CPU>1215C DC/DC/DC There are options for both the 215-1AG40 cpu and the 215-1AG31 cpu. How can I swap the current device in my project (215-1AG41) for the correct version of the cpu I am trying to download to (215-1AG31) without losing the program/data/blocks that was written for the 215-1AG40 cpu? I attempted to delete the 215-1AG40 and drag in the 215-1AG31 and this works, but it also deletes all my program blocks and data. Is there a way to simply swap out the cpu version while maintaining the current program? Also, if I right click on the cpu and say change device, the 215-1AG31 is not an option under 1215C DC/DC/DC. Only the 215_1AG40 shows up. Any help or insight would be much appreciated! I will post pictures soon Regards, Connor McDermott ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hi! TIA won't let you to change a FW4 CPU with a FW3 CPU (when trying to change the CPU). The only idea I have is to create a new project with the FW3 CPU and copy paste the program etc. into the new project. Maybe somebody else has a better solution. You might have issues with your program because of the firmware stepback. what-additions-are-included-in-the-firmware-changes-of-the-s7-1200-controllers |
