Its not totally clear where the Problem is:

- Do you use the User Administration in the HMI Project?

Then you cannot show the Passwords you have set. the Passowrd  list you can export in Runtime is encoded and you cannot show the Passwords in the project on the Engineering Station.

Here the only thing you can do is to set new Passwords in the TIa Portal Project and do a Project Transfer to the HMI with the Option to overwrite the Password management.

- Do you use the Secure Mode in the Panel itself?

If you have set the Secure Mode (Password in the Control Panel of the Panel) and you don´t know it you have to perform a OS Update to clear the Securemode.

I think it´s a topic of security.

If you could show the passwords out of the Engeneering System, everone that could access the Engeneering project could see the Passwords and use them on the Runtime System or Panel at the Machine.

If its good or not, I think everyone thinks different.

I personally like it in this way because I don not have to protect my Project and so on.

A sollution would be that Siemen build in a Function that if you want to see the Passwords you shluld enter a supervisor Password like in Safety Programs for F CPUs.
