Hi,

I got S7-300 and CP (CP 341 -RS422/485)[PLC should be MASTER] and on middle voltage device SEL-787 which should be a slave.

I'm still waiting for SIEMENS equipment to arrive, but slave device (SEL-787) I will not have before commisioning. 

My question is how to test my program

Option A:

1. Without any single device Master nor slave

Option B:

2. With Master equipment (S7-300 and CP (CP 341 -RS422/485)

you can use any MB RTU Slave simulation SW on PC, free or Commercial products. I recommend use products from SimplyModbus:

www.simplymodbus.ca

You can set on Slave simulation SW same options as you'll expect on real Slave device-communication settings, data addresses. You need also some adapater between your PLC CP and PC serial port or use USB adapter which convert RS-485 signals.

 So once I got my master equipment, I'm able to test my program with MB RTU Slave simulation SW on PC
