We want to replace an old PC that is connected to a Profibus network ( for an old WinCC system). Does a CP5711(USB conversion) offer the same options as a builtin CP5612 or 5622?

In the near future there will be a revamp and the system will be converted to communicate through TCP/IP. So if a CP5711 can do all the things a build in module can do, we can remove it later.

We used already a CP5711 with WinCC Scada for some tests and it runs, And we used a lot of CP5711 for "normal" PLC-work and we had never serious Problem.
