An interrupt subroutine is linked to an event by the ATCH instruction. Click the ATCH instruction in the instruction list and press F1 for more information.

If the event triggers, the interrupt routine gets executed. This interrupts the normal program. When the interrupt subroutine is complete, the normal program continues from where it was interrupted.

The interrupt process mentioned above needs no user intervention other than using ATCH and ENI instructions once on the program (for normal use cases).

interrupt is NOT called by program. it is called by system when event occurs

i.e. program error / analog out of range / fixed time (cyclic interrupt) / startup / loss of rack / etc.

Interrupt routine (OB) is processed once and program continues with OB1 scan.
