What I have is a problem with communication between the Simotions and the S7-400’s. I have the same problem on two separate projects when I add a Simotion as an I-slave on Profibus or Profinet. Any time I try to access The IO I get an area length error when reading/ or writing depending on whether it is an I or Q. I have made sure that all my firmware is up to date on both the s7’s and the D445’s and I am using 4.1.1.11 and 5.4 SP4 HF2. I have enclosed screen shots of the errors I’m getting and all my setup stuff. AttachmentCommProblem.zip (86 Downloads) |

hi , For the commnication between S7 and Simotion via profibus i have attached the simotion communication pdf. In this case S7 toSimotion communication is the master-master communication or we can say simotion as an interligent slave for S7 CPU. The communication FC's are SFC 65 (X-send) SFC 66(X-RCV).The main thing to be considers in that master-master communication is, in the hardware configuartion of the step7 we have to configure one profibus port for the Simotion and we should not configure any other remote station in the same profibus master system. (Note:There is no need for GSD file of Simotion controller) AttachmentSImotion COMMUNICATION.pdf (118 Downloads) |

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions - I was able to solve my problem by increasing the size of the process image in the S7-400 from 256 to 1800 bytes. |

New question published by Mohka is split to a separate thread with the subject Variabels change slowly when sending variable from s7 300 to simotion . Best regards |
