problem in simatic touch panel

noureg Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	hi, i have problem in machine that have simatic touch panel connected to S7-313 PLC the problem is that when we turned power off for cleaning and turn on again all parameters on panel erase just # # # # appears to solve this problem we do MERS for PLC but the parameters return to default so we need to review all parameters again we thought the battery of PLC is expired and we changed it but the problem still is there battery inside simatic panel need to change? if no can any expert help me to find the reason of this problem best regards nour

As when you make MRES in the CPU, you make memory reset. so, you will need to enter these parameters one by one after making MRES. I think the problem is in communication.When the #### appears, that means that the communication to the CPU does not established yet, if you wait a while it will be establish and all parameters will appear correctlly. I was thinking what kind of cleaning method you used? I hope you are using a dry cleaning method [e.g dry cloth or vacuum cleaner] instead of wet cloth. You may want to check your connection [e.g profibus] between your PLC and your touchscreen. Could it be loose or some damage connection due to cleaning process? Hope this helps! with regards, how come?

Typical while there is a negative value not permitted or number with a greated lenght of position than expected (value 1000 while there are just 3 space availabe on the I/O field) The MRES you performing to restart means there is no communication fault, I can figure some values overrange. It would be nice crosscheck the value of the tag meanwhile you face this issue with a programming unit at first, than control the software to find out eventually sospected invisible softkey generating the overrange. May be cleaning there is a small area of the touch screen getting engaged unexpected, anyway the best solution is to clear out the possible bug. pigroplc

If that is the case, since you did an MRES, you can no longer retrieve the parameters you have manually input through the HMI. I believe that those values were only temporary and were wiped out after the Memory reset. The values that the PLC is reading after the restart, were the INITIAL VALUES configured in the DBs of the project. It is very important in a project to have a documentation of the "as-left parameters" so as when there is a PLC failure or a program corruption, it is easier to re-input those values and have the plant running again. Moreover, you can change those INITIAL VALUES in the DBs where the parameters are stored. What we do is after the commissioning, all the fine-tuned values (gain, td, tr, setpoint, alarms etc) are placed in the DBs as the initial values of the parameters. When the PLC is "Cold-Started" all the values are retained and we dont have to worry of having it tuned again. But be aware that editting in a DB will require an entire download afterwards. agrade Posts: 10 Rating: (2)	Please also be aware there is a clean screen script function - I useActivateCleanScreen on a button. It simply disables the touch screen for 30 seconds and you don't need to turn anything off. You should almost never have to use the MRES switch.
