But If your devices is away from the control panel (600 m to 1000 m). I think if you used distributed I/Os you will save a lot of money. Regards,

Please let me know the size of the cables. Cable size is not mentioned in the manual, so you can use any that fits in the module. More than 1mm^2 is not recommended. Remember that the bigger size of cable - the lower resistance of the cable. So for max length use max possible size. By the way, don't forget that cable size is limited by current. So look at input characteristic how much amps it can hold and you should know what cable size you need. I don't know calculation how size depends on length, but in your case I would use 1mm^2. It is nearly max size you can comfortably fit into module.

I feel laying 0.5 mm^2 sheild cable is cheaper than providing one RIO cabinet with power supply, with red IM. Please advice me 0.5mm^2 sheild cable is ok for 900m distance to get the signal.

Hello MBSYSTEMS, There will be no problem with 1mm or even 0.5mm specially there's no high current will follow through the wire I am sure. It looks that that DI is for an Emergency button or a limit switch. So the current that will follow through the cable is equal to few milli Amps. But I recommend to use a separite small power supply for this input and use a relay near the module to energize the input. Back to your last question. There will be no problem with 900 m You can use up to 600 m for un-shield cables & 1000 m for shielded cables. Please check the technical specification of your DI module. You will found it in Module data.
