As per your advice taken out the card for 15 min then shorted capacitor and put back with s3 - 1 and s4 - 3 positions. Restarted and pressed reset. Then the display showing 1 - 0 - 9 repeatedly with all LED's lit. If I restart power now its going back to previous stage i.e. 8 on the diplay with all LED's lit. Please suggest any for last trial so that i can send my NCU card for repair or buy new one next week. 2) The IR module Ext fault resetafter looping terminal 64 with 24v. So its clear for us there is no problem in IR module. Now only unit enabled LED is lit which tells IR module is OK. Thnaks and best wishes' K.N.Rao

The card was removed and kept out side for more than 24 hours. Still it shows all leds lit and 8 on display. Thenwe removed and short capacitor on the card and put back with s3 in pos1 and s4 in pos3. After switching on in this position still same condition but afterwe do reset onlythen display changing to 1 - 0 - 9 with all LED's lit. After this if we switch OFF and ON any no. of times no use, the disply showing contineously 8 and all LED's are lit. When i tried with S7 manager no any node is detected ( for info). Pls advice if any further. regards K.N.Rao ============================= your NCU card is defectived. don't try any test more. for S7, I think everyone should know, if your NCU not finishing boot, or PLC side:PF and PS led's lit at same time or flash,you cannot get communication to PLC(in then NCU). I worked 2 years ago in an CNC services compnay specialized for Siemens, I met so many same problems like your NCU. the only thing you can do is to get an new NCU. or have your NCU fixed. my former company had one technicain can do that.He fixed three 840D NCU and 2 810D CCU. I remeber in this forum, there were some thread about number on NCU display meanings.(1=??,2=??,3=.......) hope you have data backup,getting a new NCU and do as Karl said. and then download data to recover your m/c. good luck. PS: to try your luck,you can do like following: remove 3 or 4 sub-moudles from NCU mother board, using contact cleaner clean them and mother board, then air blowing to dry.put everything back, try your last chance.

Ekalavya Posts: 2964 Rating: (485)	Hello... To my best of knowledge i understand it is the problem with NCU card..better to send it for Repairs and wait exaclty what has gone in this... Small advice when your sending for repair send your NCU Box along with NCU card... Regards, Prakash

I feel the PCMCIA memory has all the required data.Then Switched ON the system. After performing NC and PLC general reset, on the NCU +5V and PR LED's are steady with green. Hope the new NCU card is OK. But at the OP (MMC 102) following error message is coming. 2001 : PLC has not started up Please help me to put back the machineinto operation Thanks and Best reagards K.N.Rao

Have you loaded your backups ?? Looks like your Machine backups like NC and PLC archive backups needed to be loaded. Check it ... Regards, Prakash

I have not loaded any archieive files or other, only I did is general reset of NCU by placing S3-1 and S4-3. I thought all the required files are automatically loaded from PCMICIA once new NCU switched ON. If not could u pls tell what does PCMCIA card contains and what other files to be loaded. Kindly explain in detail what to do after replaceing NCU card with old PCMCIA card. Thanks and best reagards K.N.Rao

Its size is 3.4 MB I could not upload with this message. MMC is connected withFloppy drive ( For your information). Does it mean we have to copy archives to floppy then transfer. I have SIMENS PG with S7 Manager. Thanks & Best regards K.N.Rao
