P_PANDE Posts: 72 Rating: (6)	It can support up to 70 -80 Mtr with CAT-5 standard cable & without ethernet switch. If u want more than u have to use ethernet switch.

Hello, The distance in ethernet is 100m but it may reduce to 70 to 80 m depanding on Electeric Magnatic interface. so if your remote io's are located at around 100 m then you should introduce fiber optic communication in order to avoid any profinet connectivity issue. Also, you can use standard industial ethernet cable instead cat5\cat 6 cable for profinet communication.

HI, Amit etherned switch is used a HUB station. It act as bridge between one network address to other network address. but first time i am hearing it will used as a amplifer??? really??

Hi DSSK, Unlike profibus there is no repeaters in Ethernet communication and hence, an unmanaged switch after 100mcan be used to maintain the voltage level for next 100meter, refer IEEE 802.3. for more details..
