S7 300 R - network redundancy using CP 343-1

ismu Member Joined: 9/6/2012 Last visit: 2/24/2020 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Dear All, In one of my sites, im having an s7 300 soft redundant system. Im using CPU 315-2DP and CP343-1. I have done the programming for soft redundancy using ethernet and it is working fine.Im using 2 nos of Ethernet switches. Switch 1 connected to CPU A and Switch 2 Connected to CPU B. Im having Wincc Advanced SCADA & a touch panel connected to both switches. Please provide guidance for attaining communication with master CPU when the Ethernet switch between CPU(Master) and Scada/HMI fails. Please find the attached system architecture. RKM Posts: 93 Rating: (13)	Hi Ismu, In scada project define redundancy using Dynamic Wizard editor in Graphics designing. ForHMI define redundancy in conection property of plc-hmi connection. Regards.

S7 AUTOMAN Posts: 515 Rating: (56)	hi, you need to connect CPU A to both the switches, ie from port 1 of the CP 343 card to ethernet switch 1 and port 2 of the CP 343 card to ethernet switch B. this way if one switch fails you have live communication through the other switch. Do the same for PLC B also.

But there wont be any connection between HMI/SCADA and CPU A. The HMI and SCADA will start communicating with CPU B(Slave). So how will i be able to communicate with the Master CPU A? Thanks

S7 AUTOMAN Posts: 515 Rating: (56)	hi, one question inbetween.. what is the redundant link used between the CPU's? by connecting the HMI to both the switches you will only have redundant connection to the HMI alone wheras if one switch fails your One CPU will be isolated(if your redundant link used is not ethernet).

S7 AUTOMAN Posts: 515 Rating: (56)	hi, my suggestion is to connect CPU's to both the switches (you may remove one connection of HMI to the switches since the other one is more important than this, if necessary). i have been doing this and i havent faced any problem so far.

And extend one link betwenn CP and switch for each cpu. .
