Dear All, I usetwo Sinamics DCM to control one DC motor, where one sinamics master for supply armature and one sinamics slave for supply field as follow:(Take from page 4 of document in attached file "Application_SINAMICS_DCM_field_supply_unit.pdf"or see linkhttp://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/47362177) Version 3: The field supply unit (slave) operates in conjunction with a SINAMICS DCM armature supplyunit (master). Signals are exchanged via a peer-to-peer interface. The armature supply unitgenerates the current setpoint for the field supply unit and receives from the field supply unitthe current actual value and fault signal. Field weakening is possible. I choose two Sinamics DCM as follow: The first sinamics(sinamics master) is 6RA8000-0MV62-0AA0-L10(Without field power unit) for supplying armature.I have available athree phase Thyristor Bridge The second sinamics(sinamics slave) is6RA8018-6DV62-0AA0for supplying field. But Isuspect that it's cannot usingSinamics DCM Control module without field power unit6RA8000-0MV62-0AA0-L10.It must to use sinamicsDCM Control module including field power unit6RA8000-0MV62-0AA0. As I see in thepage 7 of the attached file,although not use field output 3C, 3D in thefield power unit but it have to supply power 400VAC into 3U1, 3W1 inthefield power unit. In summary, my question is: With the application as version 3, Can I use Sinamics master is Sinamics DCM without field power unit or Sinamics master must include field power unit?6RA8000-0MV62-0AA0-L10 or6RA8000-0MV62-0AA0? Which one is right solution for Sinamics master.Can somebody please explain to me why like this? Please give me user-manual for this application. Thanks and best regards. Hellolecaoson1988 I Cannot say for sure but from what we can see from the block diagram on Page-7 of document attached by you and also by looking at the overall control diagram of SINAMICS-DCM ( Attached here ), is as follows : a) The Field control calculations are performed in the Field controller of the master drive ( Armature ) and setpoints calculated are passed on to the Slave drive ( Field ). b) The Auxiliary supply of the field control module ( C98043-A7115/A7116 ) is possibly derived from 3UA -3W1 terminals. It is possibley due to this reason that you cannot do away with the Field controller in the Master Drive. Maybe some experts can shed more light on this. DearNavnag, Thanks for your answer. I have also idea like you. But when I ask Siemens supporter (support.automation@siemens.com) ,they seem to say that: It can be use Master Driver without field power unit. They answered very short, not explain why or give me any document. Can someone give me another opinion?It can be using Master driver without field power unit or can’t. Best regards. |

Hellolecaoson1988 In the similar document ( Attached ) for 6RA70 ( Page-4 ) it is Explicitly mentioned : Because it is necessary toactivate the closed-loop control for the field current setpoint in the armature supply unit, inputterminals 3U1 and 3W1 must be supplied. Otherwise, the unit fails with F005 (fault in the fieldcircuit). Since 6RA80 ( DCM ) hardware is largely based on 6RA70, I would think that same applies to SINAMICS DCM ( 6RA80 ) as well. I mean, why otherwise would they show 3U1 and 3W1 in the connection diagram of the document for SINAMICS DCM. So finally either the Diagram in the Application Document of SINAMICS DCM is incorrect or the confirmation received by you from Automation Support is incorrect. I think, it is better to be safe and order the Armature unit alongwith the field unit. Cheers Navnag
