Thats no the real way how the badge system works, I'm a live example xD with just 56 post, i'm a bronze member, why?

The explanation is the next:

normally i'm really active in the Siemens forum (not necessarily posting all the time but reading posts). When i write a post, i try to help other people, and in some cases, they give me ratings and "to thanks".

Exactly how the systems works, maybe a moderator can tell you. But if you want to increase your ranking, just be active, participate in post or ask questions, when sb helps you, you can thanks him/her and give a rating, even some questions are rated when are very particular. 

The key is give your knowledge or feed yours in the forum, and Enjoy it!.
