Hello all, I got a problem installing support packages for all TIA versions. The problem occurred (I think) while i was downloading/installing updates by using TIA ADMIN and my computer was forced restart because of Windows updates. (work policy) After the restart i'm getting the error "An installation is still in progress...." when i want to install support packages in TIA ADMIN, TIA UPDATER and TIA Vxx; Installed software. The weird part is that a normal .exe update for TIA can be installed without problems. It seems there is a pending installation in the registry or something. And yes i restart/shutdown my computer multiple times. This is the second week i'm trying to find the solution. the things i tried; delete tempdata in ..\AppData\Local\Temp delete ccmchace in C:\Windows\ccmcache run disk cleanup in C drive and delete all windows update leftovers etc. uninstall TIA V13 and V15.1 and re-install delete all "pendingfilenameregistration" registry --> https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/8861819 and https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/178159/error-pending-system-changes-that-requir.html (is an example) delete all downloaded content of TIA ADMIN and UPDATER in ..\\Downloads\simatic\tiaportal\HSP and C:\ProgramData\Siemens\Automation\Support Package Store and C:\Siemens\TIA Admin\DownloadCache\simatic\tiaportal downloaded a microsoft tool; MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta and uninstall an HSP package with hopes it comes out of the loop. also found 2 registry that where saying a download/installation was pending in Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wow6432Node\Siemens\AUTSW\Automation Software Updater\ASUData (deleted them) maybe tried more options but cant remember them all... i'm running win 10 enterprise Version 10.0.17763 Build 17763 System Model HP EliteBook 850 G5 i'm running out of options and i need some packages to open PLC programs at work. who can help me? kind regards, Danny |

Dear Einstein, I looked up the temp data map and renamed the "ASU" map with the update files. After restart and checking for updates again still no progress. I also tried a windows install clean up utilly and selected all support packages, also failed installation after reboot. https://www.techspot.com/downloads/388-windows-installer-cleanup-utility.html deleted all the downloaded files and tempdata map, also no progress. grtz, Danny |

Ok, I was trying to solve the wrong problem I think. If you cannot access updates to download and install, that is not the same as you have downloaded them, but they will not install. Are you able to access the ASU web site directly via web browser on your PC? https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109474528 shows the link Or maybe this link applies: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109773511 If there are problems, manually download and install your support packages.
Use a local admin account and create another local account and add that account to the administrators group. Restart and login with the new local admin account. This will create a new temp folder. |

dear einstein, yes i checked the taskmanager but i can't find anything related to installation. .exe format can be run a hsp can't be run. lime you said try to manually load them in TIA but the same messages appears, installation stil running. I'm trying to dig in the log files whats going on but is hard to understand sometimes. today i tried to install the new TIA V13 update in the tia updater. downloading is not the problem but when i click install the same message's appears " another installation in progress". weird part is when i select the .exe in the download folder it starts installing. i wanted to upload my log file van ASU but its way to big. i copy past the moment of downloading the update this morning in another text file (see attachments) maybe you can find the problem? kind regards, Danny AttachmentASU.txt (92 Downloads) |
