Dear Levi, I'm sure that your English is much better than mine, so do not worry In which language would it be comfortable for you? This Forum can be found also in German. I have done the update to SP2 (from 10.2.1.1.0) yesterday, without any issues, so I guess that you have a local related issue. I had no problems or error messages, not with the UpdateCenter and the SP2 nor with the installation of the (new) setup routine of it. With the SP2 you can only update 10.2, not 10.1, like usual. You wrote "(new 10.2.2) choose user and nothing": do you have a screenshot of that screen for us here? You also wrote: "ODBC is set up from SysWOW64": please use the 32 bits version of that program. From your description, which was pretty good, I would guess that you have downloaded and installed the full version of COMOS 10.2.2 The first thing to check would be about the license for COMOS: - did you renamed the license file (which is always a XML file) to the following string (case sensitive): ComosLicense.xml ? Only with that name as prefix it will be found by COMOS. - Did you saved that license file, with the correct name, in the "Config" directory of COMOS, in the installation path of it? This is also important. - Do you have a USB-Dongle with your license? If so, does it match (his ID) with the ID which can be seen in the license file? That is mandatory. - The USB-Dongle is a Dongle which cannot be found and used by Windows, if you do not install a particular driver for it. Have you done so, do you have the latest version, does it fits to your operating system? If you like, you can test the Dongle by using the tool "Dongle.exe", which can be found in the BIN directory of COMOS. Here you see the path on my PC: C:\Program Files (x86)\COMOS 10.2.2\Current\Bin Here you have the link to get the driver. - Please make sure that the license is not expired. You can read that in the file itself. In it, you will find an expiration date, or that it is "Permanent" which is fine. But: do not edit that file and save it, as after that it will not work any more. So, only read in it. - Please also make sure that you only have the actual/latest license file in the "Config" directory, no any further and/or older ones. This also means: if you get a new license file, you should always substitute it, not add it to the old one. - If necessary, would be a good idea to open a support ticket; Here you see how to do that. - Just in case you need to have a look into the log file of COMOS: here you see how to create one. I'm sure that you will agree that those steps was easy and fast to do It would be great to get a feedback from you here, if this helped you a bit, which was the solution, if your manager is happy and so on. Hello! I reinstall Windows 7 and install all updates and install full software from GTAC but Comos still does not work. Comos is without USB-Dongle and only local. License file is correct and "permanent". I added all screenshots to the ZIP Maybe I need to install a CLS server? Attachmentscreenshots.zip (343 Downloads) |

Hello Levi, thanks for that information, that helps a lot. Yes, it means even more than that: ===> To use this license file, you have to implement it into a CLS. If you download the full version of COMOS from www.siemens.com/gtac, you will find the ComosLicenseServer in it. Just in case you have some further questions, here you see the FAQs I'm also sure that you can get in touch with the sales person which has provided you the license, in case of further questions about it. Also, you can always open a ticket at Siemens, anytime. You can use the same link mentioned above for the download: there you can reach the support. ===> This license with type "SERVER" is restricted to a particular machine/server, so you have to use it on that particular machine to get it to work. ===> This license can be used for COMOS 10.2 and the versions before. ===> This is what I can tell you, dear Levi, with the delivered information.
