Goodmorning, With the MRP protocol, you can create a ring structure without the use of additional switches. One device takes the role of redundancy manager. The telegram direction is normally clockwise, but when one device fails, the redundancy manager will reconfigure the network and the telegram direction is set anticlockwise. It is possible to take into account two CPU's. So if one fails, the other is still reachable. You can configure the MRP protocol in Step7 and system diagnosis. You must comply the following rules when you want to use MRP: - Max 50 nodes in a ring - Max 200ms reconfiguration time The following switches support MRP: - X200 as of v4.0 - X200 IRT as of v4.0 - X300 as of v3.0 - X400 as of v3.0 When using a configuration with system redundancy, all IO devices must support system redundancy. |
