Hi every body! I need help with my strange issue. Last saturday night the CPU 416-2P V5 which was working at the factory where I'm works was suddenly stopping working showing all the leds blinking in the front. The only way that I found to remove the errors and make it work again was unplugging and plugging again the CPU card, the CPU it keep working for not more than 2 hours and then again stop working. Of course no buffer diagnostic that I can read to see what the problem was by obvious reason (the CPU was unlugged) After surf for a lot for the forum I found that if I briefly power off and on again with the CPU in "stop position" can read the buffer from Simatic Step 7. Then I can see that the error was "DEFECTIVE: memory test error in internal memory". I tried to update the firmware to last version available (and many others) but before finish the CPU again stop working with all the leds blinking. This time the error that I can see is "DEFECTIVE:Checksum error". The strange thing it's not that the CPU was broken , the problem is that was happenig since at least in the last 3 years with three differents CPU. * The first time was during a rainstorm outside and we thinked that was somthing related ti it. That time the CPU was replaced for a new one and the old one was trashed because no log or diagnostic buffer was accesed. * The second time was five months ago , with the same problem, I mean CPU stop working and all the leds blinking. No rainstorm and with the perfect wheather. We did an intensive revision af all the "grounded cables " in the PLC panel, checking also the connectors and profibus insulated "link guard" electronics. Just to avoid problems . * Unfortunatelly was stopping working a thirth time which was las saturday night. Again replacing the CPU for a new one because the old one it do not keep working for more that hour or two. By the way , I tried to upgrade to the last firmware Upgrade to the old CPU which I was replacing five months ago and was succefully. So now I`ll keep "on" this CPU (out of production) to see what happens. All suggestions are welcome about what to do in order to avoid a new CPU will break. Thanks in advance!!! Did you ever ask Siemens Support? Sounds very strange. But I would suggest hardware defect. Mainly power supply. Regards |
