Hello, The value stored in the DB which indicate the position ( encoder value ) in this case could be stored in retentive memory. And when power on again, you can read the old value in OB100 as mentioned. But let me tell you that this method is not perfectas here we are working with an incrementalencoder. Because when power failure occures, may be somebody can move the machine manualy for maintance purpose, I mean you can rotate the machine (which is connected the the incrementalencoder shaft) So, you when you power on the system again, you will have the old position of the encoder (last position before power off) while it is different of the actual position as it was changed during power off period!
Thus because when putting the CPU in stop mode, and restart again and may be you made a memory reset, you make a complete reset of the momory, So you will found that the value in the DB became "0". If you want to keep the position of the encoder even if power failure occures andalso in case of you rotate the machine during power off period, then you have to use absolute encoder. Differnce between absolute encoder and incremental Hope this helps. |

Hello Fade UP, I doubt that you are making a memory reset because it requires holding the switch on MRES position. However andjust for information, a memory reset behavior depends whether you have FLASH or RAM card. If you have RAM then everything is deleted except MPI parameters. If you have FLASH then program is deleted from work memory and loaded again from the load memory (FLASH). If you are sure that your batteries are ok and you are not making a memory reset and you are still losing retentive data (make sure data block is retentive) after STOP/RUN then maybe a call to the technical support will give you the answer.
