Dear dechartier In my case, I have an fdc107 6es71570ad820xa0, which I would like to link two PA flowmeter and a DP Profibus CPU with it. the problem is I'm not sure that I need a junction and terminator or I can couple those two flowmeters without any other stuff ?! Hello welfi; The following screenshot shpws you how Siemens proposes a number of PA instruments be connected to a FDC 157-0, using one or more AFD modules. The information was taken from this manual, which you should consult to setup your PA network properly: SIMATIC Bus links DP/PA coupler, active field distributors, DP/PA Link and Y Link https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/us/en/view/1142696 As you can see a termination resistor is always necessary at the end of a PA segment. Siemens proposes this part number, to be associated with their Split-Connect technology for Profibus-PA cabling: SpliTConnect M12 Terminator: 6GK1905-0AE00 Another option we have used in certain projects, from MTL/Relcom, now a property of Eaton, uses Foundation Field bus Megablocks as field distributors, with an optional termination block.
